Gianna Davy

A lifelong dancer and artist, Gianna has been blessed with many opportunities to witness the world from many angles. Raised in Oakland, CA, her professional career began on stage as a Bay Area ballerina where she learned that life does not have to follow a linear path, and that the simple act of playing will keep you forever connected to your most authentic and artistic self.  Her early-born passion for dance carried her through a 16-year professional career where she worked with many companies including Smuin Contemporary Ballet, Oakland Ballet, Robert Moses’ KIN, State Street Ballet, Company C Contemporary Ballet, and Upside Dance.

Teaching art, dance, and movement has also been a huge passion for Gianna, and she has had the pleasure of sharing this joy with students for over 25 years. Gianna teaches to every age, level, and ability, and not always within the traditional limitations of studio, style, or student.  Gianna is a proud co-founder of the Healdsburg Dance Collective which brings together local dance artists to bolster community support for dance while providing dance education, performance opportunities, and informing the community about ongoing dance classes and events.

In addition to being a performer, a teacher, and life long learner, Gianna is a published author of two children’s books, 'No One Owns the Colors', and 'How Do I Wonder?' as well as a mother of two sweet boys, a maker of nature-inspired jewelry, and a wanderer and a ponderer.

In 2009 Gianna graduated Magna cum Laude from St Mary's College with a BA in Performing Arts, and in 2023 she graduated Summa cum Laude with an MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from New York University.  Gianna loves supporting people in achieving their communication goals and is passionate about providing relationship-based therapy.  Utilizing her diverse background to support people with complex communication needs is her passion.  Gianna lives in Northern California with her family, 1 beehive, 2 cats, 2 chickens, 24 trees, and thousands of flowers.
